Rosemarie Rohatgi, DMD, is Triple Boarded in Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM) which makes her a cut above the rest.  She is the First and Only Female Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in the Greater San Diego area.  Dr. Rohatgi been practicing for over twenty years and dedicates her entire practice to Dental Sleep Medicine as the Founder and Medical Director of San Diego Sleep Therapy, which is San Diego’s only exclusively focused Dental Sleep Medical Practice.  This is one of very few practices in the world that has started from scratch and only treats DSM.  She is one of very few dentists who has completed the well-respected Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry. This comprehensive program emphasizes continuous learning, keeping her at the forefront of the field and allows her to provide the best treatment and latest advances to her patients. Dr. Rohatgi works closely with many sleep specialists and has had great success in helping patients who are unable to use CPAP (continuous positive air pressure). The appliances she fabricates has helped eliminate snoring and sleep apnea events.  Dr. Rohatgi is an honorary guest speaker and is often invited to speak to graduate residents of both University of California San Diego and Veterans Administration of San Diego.  She is an expert and leader in the field of sleep and is a consultant to several private practices.

As San Diego’s leading woman Entrepreneurs, Dr. Rohatgi has received recognition for three consecutive years as a Finalist of San Diego Magazine’s Woman of the Year for 2013, 2014 and 2015.  She is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and served on the Committee on Narcolepsy 2014 – 2015.  She is also an active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine while having served on the Committee on Annual Meetings in 2012 – 2013 and Committee on Education for 2013 – 2015.  She is the Past-President of San Diego’s Academy of General Dentistry and served as a Board Member for both the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego and American Parkinson’s Disease Association. Dr. Rohatgi is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Sleep and Breathing Academy, American Academy of CranioFacial Pain, California Sleep Society, and American Thoracic Society.   She frequently attends National and International Sleep Meetings to stay current with the latest practice protocols and techniques. She attended Hong Kong’s Biennial Sleep Meeting in September 2014.  This distinction reflects her dedication to both patients and the profession – from her selection of effective appliances to her commitment to practicing evidenced based care.

Dr. Rohatgi graduated with honors in Chemistry from the University of Oregon and received her Doctorate in Medical Dentistry from Oregon Health Sciences University with honors in Endodontics and Removable Prosthodontics.  While not attending continuing education courses, she loves spending quality time with her husband and two young children.  She has a strong affinity for interior design and remodeling homes.
