Description

The waveform module will cover waveform characteristics when reading EEG. It will cover specific factors when analyzing waveforms such as; amplitude, frequency, and shape. This module will also cover the importance of the shape of a waveform when determining sleep stage and seizure activity as well as determining dysrhythmias and ectopy that might be seen in EKG. It will cover the recommended filter and sensitivity in Polysomnography.

Upon completion of this module students should be able to:

• Have the ability to analyze waveforms as it pertains to Polysomnography
• Understand the filter and sensitivity settings and how it affects the waveform.
• Understand how to calculate a time constant
